Everything looked good for a great night of
racing. Everything, that is, except the storm clouds coming from the West. Qualifying and
heat races were run, up through the 2nd, of 4, Late Model heat races. At nearly 9:00 the
rain started and there was no letup. The remainder of the racing program, for Watertown
Bowl, will run next week, Saturday, August 19.
Next week Jefferson Speedway will begin its race program
with the remainder of the Watertown Bowl event; two late model heat races, Last Chance
races, the Watertown Bowl 50 and feature races in all divisions. Following this is the
Generac Portable Products 50 racing program, with heat races, Last Chance races and
a 50 lap Late Model feature as well as another round of feature races in all divisions.
Rounding out the nights racing program is the Demo Derby.
The entire schedule, for August 19, has been moved up 1/2
hour to make time for this full night of racing. Gates open at 3:30, qualifying at 5:00
and racing at 7:00 sharp.
Note that there are no "rain checks" for the
August 12 racing program, since the entire program will be completed on August 19 and fans
will have the opportunity to see all of the scheduled racing events for both August 12 and
19th.
The "Voss Sentry Foods/WFAW Winners Circle
Challenge" has been moved to August 26 and will run in conjunction with the "UAW
Local 95 - "50" and the Roll Over Contest Finale.
Remember: August 19, gates open at 3:30, qualifying 5:00
and racing at 7:00 sharp.
August 26, gates open at 4:00, qualifying at 5:30 and
racing at 7:30 sharp.
Jefferson Speedway is on Highway 18, between Cambridge and
Jefferson Wisconsin.
