Stevens Makes Victorious Comeback at Jefferson!

Chad Squirt Stevens of Janesville claimed top honors in the 35 lap Late Mode
main event. Starting from the inside of row 4, Stevens headed toward the front as Russ
Goodwin of Beloit claimed the early lead.

(#11) is at the point, with Roger Behlke (#44) in 2nd. Stevens is on his way to the win!
Aaron Rude (#9) makes his way past Troy Nelson (#7), in the International feature.
Rude went on to win, with Olson finishing third. 
Bobby Stough (#27) challenging Tod Goldade (#9) in
the Sportsman feature. Goldade crossed the line first, followed by Stough. Goldade
subsequently failed the post race technical inspection, making Stough the
"Official" winner.

Terry Wangsness (#55) moving in
behind Johnny Robinson (#99) in Hobby Stock feature action. Robinson went on to win the
event and Wangsness would finish 3rd.

Rikki Bishofberger (#20), holding off Allen Petrie
(#12), on her way to her first career feature win, in the Bandit division main.
The rest of the Bandit action! Bill Reynolds (#38), Justin Punsel (#21), Brian
Paulson (41) and Tim Seitz (#57) battle for position in the Bandit feature. Seitz made his
way to the 3rd place finish.

Nick Wendt (#94) won the Late Model "Best
Appearing Car Contest".
Chris Quam (#4) won the International "Best
Appearing Car Contest".
Chad Reimer (#19) won the Sportsman division
"Best Appearing Car Contest".
Jeremy Hartwig (#6) won the Hobby Stock "Best
Appearing Car Contest".

All eyes were at the front of the field, as Goodwin
battled to stay ahead of Roger Behlke, for most of the race. Stevens made his way to 5th
by lap 10, behind Nick Wendt. Stevens claimed 3rd from Wendt, on lap 25, closing with
Behlke. As Stevens moved under Behlke, for 2nd, on lap 27, Scott Nottestad was close
behind for 3rd. Moving under Goodwin on lap 29, Stevens claimed the point on lap 30, with
Nottestad following for 2nd. Nottestad battled hard for the top spot, but Stevens was up
to the challenge. Caution came, on the white flag lap, setting up a Green/White/Checkered
finish. Stevens handled the restart, holding off Nottestad. At the checkered flag it was
Stevens for the win, followed by Nottestad, Randy Breunig, Wendt and Goodwin.
Winning the Best Looking Car honors, for the
Late Models was Nick Wendt.
In International action, defending Track Champion, Aaron
Rude of Cambridge turned a 9th place start into a feature win. At the green flag it was
Randy Jansen claiming the early lead. Jansen surrendered the point to Troy Olson on lap 4,
with Rude up to the 3rd spot. Caution came, on lap 8, for debris on the front stretch. On
the restart Rude moved under Scott Hoeft, for 2nd and closed with Olson. Moving under
Olson on lap 12, Rude claimed the top spot on lap 17. At the stripe it was Rude for the
win, followed by Chris Quam, Olson, Hoeft and Mike Drays.
Winning the Best Looking Car honors, for the
Internationals was Chris Quam.
In Sportsman Division action Tod Goldade of Stoughton led
every lap, claiming victory in the 30 lap main event. Moving from the outside of row 1, to
the point, at the green flag, Goldade held off all challengers, on his way to the
checkered flag. Bobby Stough moved into 2nd, on lap 19, closing with Goldade in a bid for
the lead. They battled all the way to the checkered. At the stripe it was Goldade for the
win, followed by Stough, Dave Oswald, Trent Erdman and Jason Thoma.
Winning the Best Looking Car honors, for the Sportsman was Chad Reimer of
Oconomowoc.
In Hobby Stock Action Orfordvilles Johnny Robinson II
moved from 4th to first, in the 20 lap feature. Eaan Carson took the lead at the start,
surrendering the point to Robinson on lap 5. Once at the point it was Robinson all the
way. As they flew past the checkered flag it was Robinson for the win, followed by Terry
Wangsness, Jim Robinson Jr., Carson and Jerry Chapman.
Winning the Best Looking Car honors, for the Hobby Stocks was Jeramy Hartwig
of Cottage Grove.
In Bandit Action, Rikki Bishofberger of Fort Atkinson
claimed her first, career, feature win, leading the 20 lap main event from green to
checkered. Starting on the pole, Bishofberger held off Allen Petrie all the way to the
checkered flag. At the finish it was Bishofberger for the win, followed by Petrie, Tim
Seitz, Brandon Riedner and Brian Paulson.
Winning the Best Looking Car honors, for the Bandits was Brandon Riedner of
Waunakee.
Next week at Jefferson Speedway its the Berres
Brothers Coffee Roasters -- 50," featuring a 50 lap Late model feature and action
packed racing in all divisions. Gates open at 3:00, Qualifying at 5:00 and racing at 7:00
sharp.
Jefferson Speedway is on Highway 18, half way between Jefferson and Cambridge Wisconsin.
